Do you recognise the impact our homes have on the environment? Could you inspire homeowners to improve energy efficiency at home? The My Home Made Better team would love to hear from you!
My Home Made Better is a free and impartial home energy advice service designed to inspire and empower residents to futureproof their homes while maximising financial gains and savings.
The Energy Champion role is a voluntary position to help the team reach new audiences and showcase real life examples of home energy improvements that are taking place locally. Training is provided and hours are flexible to suit any level of availability.
There are three main ways to get involved as an Energy Champion:
• Promotion: Put up posters, share on social media, or speak to your community at local groups you’re part of. The My Home Made Better team can provide you with everything you need to spread the word.
• Events: Join a local retrofit adviser at a local community event in your area and chat directly with the public to get more people on board with retrofit. These opportunities come up on an ad hoc basis, so you can get involved when it suits you.
• Green Open Homes: If you’ve already made energy efficiency improvements in your home, you might like to get involved in a Green Open Home – where residents open their doors to show others what’s possible. All organised and insured by the My Home Made Better team, so you can focus on helping inspire real change
