Description

The Ugly Duckling is a not-for-profit furniture recycling and renovation project, run by Andover Mind, for the local community. The aim is to help the environment by repairing and recycling donated furniture that would otherwise have gone to landfill, whilst at the same time providing work experience, social networks, and occupation and training opportunities.

Activities -

  • Wood working activities.
  • Dismantling items & repurposing the wood.
  • Cutting, sanding & plaining.
  • Preparation and painting furniture.
  • Upcycling. Repairing furniture.
  • Use your creativity to come up with ideas.
  • Helping ensure a safe working environment.

DBS Check is required.

Support Given -

Induction and Training.

Role Suitable for -

  • Volunteering with Friends.
  • Those aged 17 plus.

Skills Required -

  • Experience in woodworking.
  • Experience in using woodworking tools
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliability.
  • Enthusiasm.
  • Flexible,
  • Non-judgmental.
