Whitchurch Squirrel Scouts is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to work with Squirrels aged 4–6, bringing fun, creativity, and adventure to our youngest Scouts. This role is all about creating magical first experiences and helping young people begin their journey of skills for life.
As a Squirrel Leader or Team Member at Whitchurch Squirrels, you’ll help deliver exciting weekly sessions that make young eyes light up with wonder. Working as part of a friendly team, you’ll support safe, fun, and engaging activities that encourage curiosity, confidence, and creativity.
You will:
Help plan and run weekly Squirrel sessions
Support 4–6 year olds in a safe, inclusive environment
Lead and assist with activities such as cooking, crafts, games, and den building
Keep sessions organised, fun, and welcoming
Mentor and encourage young people as they explore new experiences
Never been a Scout before? Neither have the Squirrels! It’s never too late to get involved and join the fun.
Good communication skills
Enthusiasm, patience, and creativity
Willingness to work with young children
All other training will be provided
A DBS (criminal record) check will be required
Training
