Oasis Christian Centre is looking for enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to join our welcoming team at the Oasis Book Shop. Our shop offers a warm community environment and stocks books, Bibles, cards, Fairtrade and ethically sourced foods and crafts, Scout and Guide uniforms, and more.

About the Role

As a Volunteer Shop Assistant, you will help provide excellent customer service and contribute to the smooth running of our vibrant community shop.

What You’ll Do

  • Greet and assist customers, offering advice across all departments
  • Promote and sell products with an understanding of current stock
  • Use the till and card machine confidently and accurately
  • Handle cash responsibly
  • Research and process customer orders online
  • Support the team in maintaining a welcoming shop environment

Skills Needed

  • Friendly, approachable, and confident in providing excellent customer service
  • Enjoy interacting with a wide range of customers
  • Proactive and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Relevant qualifications or training (required)
