Do you love books?
Would you like to make a difference by taking books/audio books to people in their own homes?
Home Library Service Volunteers help once a month by selecting books from their local library & visiting customers to exchange them. This service is for anyone who finds it difficult to access their local library due to mobility/frailty difficulties and who have nobody to go for them. As a volunteer for the Home Library Service you can enhance somebody's life not only through the library materials that you take for them, but also through your companionship and contact you give them with the outside world. Good friendships have developed out of this service and we very much hope that this will be your experience too.
What activities will the volunteer perform or take part in?
Visiting customer's in their own homes to deliver library items. Returning items on the customer's behalf. Selecting items and issuing them to the customer's account. Supporting and befriending.
