Youth Options is seeking caring and enthusiastic Volunteer Early Years Practitioners to support the delivery of high-quality childcare and play-based learning for children aged 2–5 years. This rewarding role helps create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can explore, learn, and thrive.
As a Volunteer Early Years Practitioner, you will work closely with qualified Early Years staff to support daily activities and routines. You’ll play an important part in helping children develop confidence, curiosity, and early learning skills through play.
You will:
Support children aged 2–5 during play-based learning sessions
Assist with activities such as imaginative play, storytelling, singing, music, and arts and crafts
Help with outdoor exploration and physical play
Support mark making and early literacy activities
Assist with basic food preparation and snack times
Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
Experience working with children
A caring, patient, and supportive approach
Ability to work well as part of a team
Commitment to safeguarding and child wellbeing
Relevant qualifications or training
Enhanced DBS (criminal record) check
Training
Uniform provided
Ongoing support from experienced Early Years staff
This role is suitable for:
Volunteering with friends
Those who want to work outdoors
Monday to Friday
Various hours between 8:30am and 3:30pm
Term time only
Immediate start once accepted
