A RAODS Production
In the final hours of 14th April 1912, the RMS Titanic, on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York, collided with an iceberg and slowly sank. It was one of the most tragic disasters of the 20th century and has become a global legend.
Based on the experiences of those aboard the 'unsinkable' ship, Titanic the Musical is a stirring production focused on the hopes, dreams, and aspirations of the vessel's passengers and crew, each of whom boarded with stories and personal ambitions of a new tomorrow. All innocently unaware of the fate awaiting them, the Third Class immigrants dreamed of a better life in America, the Second Class imagined they too could join the lifestyles of the rich and famous, while the First Class millionaires anticipated their legacies lasting forever.
With music and lyrics by Maury Yeston (Nine, Grand Hotel) and a book by Peter Stone (1776, Death Takes A Holiday), Titanic the Musical has won multiple awards internationally, including five Tony Awards in 1997. Given the disaster's local significance, the most recent UK tour opened at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton in 2023.
RAODS will perform this musical on the week of the 113th anniversary of the ship's sinking.
