We are facing a time where grants and other funding streams are in great demand. We have talked to local people and organisations about their dreams and aspirations. This has inspired us to look at how we can think differently about the future. We held a successful Crowdfunder workshop in March and hope these two workshops will inspire you too.
Workshop 1
10 – 12 noon
Cooperatives
More than a shop, what actually is a coop?
We’ve all heard of the coop supermarket, but did you know that a cooperative is a business model where ownership is shared between the workers, customers and/or residents, instead of being focused in the hands of bosses and shareholders. Members control the business democratically through one member, one vote.
Does this sound interesting? Do you want to know more? Is this a good fit for your project or idea? Is it a way forward for your organisation? Come and find out more from GCDA, specialists in the field.
Workshop 2
12:30 – 14:30
Community Ownership
What is an Asset of Community Value? Is there a local building or space you think would be a great community owned asset?
We presently have 3 pubs that have been nominated as Assets of Community Value in Rushmoor. There have been 6 unsuccessful applications since 2013. However, it doesn’t have to be a pub or even a building! It can be land or buildings that the community uses or has used in the past and could use again.
Want to know more? Come armed with your questions and ideas.
Cost: £10 – Join us for the day or one of the two workshops to help you understand more about the value of Community Ownership and Cooperatives. All tickets are £10 so come for the day to get the best value for your money.

Note: Please only book the full day if you can attend both sessions, this will help us manage numbers and ensure we can welcome as many people as possible.
