I am the Senior Project Officer for The Conservation Volunteers (TCV). I will be overseeing conservation work on a woodland site near to Nursling Substation, Southampton. This site is a TCV ‘Green Gym’ which offer free outdoor conservation volunteering sessions, to improve overall mental and physical health
At TCV, we strive to empower individuals and communities by enhancing health, prospects, and outdoor spaces. We achieve this through a range of impactful projects and services that align with local operational strategies and our wider Strategic Plan. A key component of our work is the successful recruitment and management of volunteers, as well as fostering strong relationships with external partners.
TCV’s mission is to connect communities with green spaces, improving both environmental sustainability and community well-being. Our initiatives focus on volunteering opportunities, community engagement, and environmental education. I believe the woodland site presents a valuable opportunity to develop a meaningful project that benefits both people and nature.
Not only do TCV focus on larger projects, we also welcome helping the local community and helping in small conservation projects, from creating wildflower areas to assisting in a kitchen garden.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how TCV can enlist and use volunteers to contribute to the woodland and future conservation projects. Please let me know a convenient time to meet or speak further and I look forward to working together.
