Andover History and Archaeology Society

We are a group of people from all walks of life who want to learn more about the recent, not so recent, and distant past of Andover and the area of northwest Hampshire in which it sits. We have a variety of interests, some enjoying the detective work of original research while others are content to participate in our regular meetings where invited speakers talk about subjects - historical and archaeological - which they have studied. We do not currently do any fieldwork, however. Our annual Dacre Lecture is a public event and is given by an archaeologist or historian of national standing. In June we have a guided walk around a local village or place of archaeological interest.
