Description

Our local Fundraising Groups are made up of a minimum of 3 volunteers (not from the same family) who work together to raise funds and awareness of Help for Heroes. This role will lead and motivate the group, organising regular meetings to plan and deliver fundraising events and activities. Please note this is an unpaid voluntary position.

What you'll be doing

  • • Leading and motivating a team of volunteers and helpers
  • • Organising and facilitating regular meetings with the members of the group to plan, co-ordinate and deliver fundraising events and activities
  • • Actively sourcing and registering own fundraising events with the charity
  • • Organising and delivering fundraising events and activities, ensuring they are safe and following Help for Heroes policies
  • • Delegating tasks effectively, ensuring group members are clear on responsibilities
  • • Collecting, counting and banking monies in accordance with our Money Handling Policy.
  • • Maintaining accurate records of monies raised
  • • Promoting own events and activities through various channels
  • • Engaging with local businesses and organisations to support your events and activities
  • • Building and maintaining relationships with members of the community
  • • Talking to supporters at events, giving talks about the charity or collecting cheques on behalf of Help for Heroes
  • • Representing Help for Heroes at our hosted collections and events and to help us grow support in the heart of the community
  • • Actively promote Help for Heroes and increase awareness in your local community

What activities will the volunteer perform or take part in?
Organising fundraising and collection events at community events including Armed Forces Day, fairs, and fete's.
