Andover Trees United is a volunteer-led charity working in partnership with schools, local authorities, businesses, specialist environmental organisations, artists and other creative practitioners to promote conservation and improve access to natural wild spaces. Our mission is to empower our community, especially Young People, to combat current environmental crises through tree planting & other practical actions.
By working closely with 25 schools within the Andover area, we involved every young person in our community in 10 years of woodland creation from 2012 to 2021, creating our flagship community wood, Harmony Woods. Having established an annual tree-planting day in the school calendar for Andover schools, we will ensure that tree planting continues through the development of green corridors.
Regular Monday workdays are open to all. They provide opportunities to carry out seasonal tasks in the wood and at the charity allotment. Our work also provides opportunities for families and youth groups to come together in the evenings and at weekends to plant and care for woodland, help with management tasks, learn new skills and care for young trees (and in summer propagate wildflowers) on our separate allotment.
All our services are provided by community volunteers and all offers of help are gratefully received. Current and ongoing volunteering opportunities can be found on our website.
