We have been reliably informed that Bowling is a very old sport in Andover. We know it was being played here in 1660 because a lease to the Common Acre (part of what is now the Recreation Ground) stipulated the land could be used for the pasturing of sheep and lambs but they must be kept off the bowling green. Over three hundred years later we haven't moved far and are still situated in the Recreation Ground in Andover. We have our own parking area, our Green has 6 Rinks and has very active league teams for both men and women and a mixed league. Bowls is a very competitive game but is also a sociable sport and we welcome new members, and it's not important if you haven't played before.
