Volunteers needed to help refurbish Andover Trees United Woodland site office

Description

Andover Trees United (ATU) is calling on volunteers to help refurbish its woodland site office as part of an exciting community led initiative. The project provides a unique opportunity for individuals to gain hands on experience in carpentry, renewable energy installations, and sustainable landscaping while contributing to an important environmental cause.

ATU is seeking volunteers to work alongside experienced contractors on a variety of tasks, including external cladding, carpentry, living roof installation, solar panel fitting, and landscaping work. No prior experience is necessary—just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved!

Upcoming Volunteer Dates:

  1.  External Cladding/Carpentry: 29th - 31st January, 3rd - 6th February, 10th - 13th February, 17th - 20th February
  2.  Simple Solar Installation:March
  3.  Surface Preparations:March
  4.  Hard Landscaping:April/May
  5.  Soft Landscaping:April/May

This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to develop their carpentry skills, learn more about renewable energy solutions, or get hands-on experience in sustainable construction. Volunteers will also have the chance to contribute to the installation of a wood burner, solar panels, and a green roof, enhancing the energy efficiency and sustainability of the woodland office.

Andover Trees United is a community-led environmental charity dedicated to conserving green spaces, promoting biodiversity, and engaging local people in hands-on nature projects. This volunteer driven refurbishment project is part of ATU’s commitment to fostering sustainable, eco-friendly practices while providing educational opportunities for the community.

“We are thrilled to offer these volunteer opportunities and look forward to welcoming individuals who are keen to develop practical skills while making a real difference in our local environment,” said Wendy Davis, a representative from Andover Trees United. “This project is not only about improving our facilities but also about building community spirit and promoting sustainability.”
