If you want to bring your own chair or picnic We will charge the usual £3 per person entry fee and will send it to the Alzheimer’s Society.
For those of you who don’t know the area around Memorial Park, free parking is available along the side of the wall before you get to the bridge and park entrance. There is also limited disabled parking by the entrance and along the Park side of the road after the entrance. We will meet by the Park Cafe.
Picnic – Tuesday, 22nd June from 11.30 am – 1.30 pm at the Sports Field next to Romsey Rapids
As members of ROMDAG have been unable to organise DEMFEST for the second year running, they have instead arranged a series of monthly ‘themed’ picnics for people living with Dementia and their carers. The June picnic takes place on Tuesday, 22nd June from 11.30 am – 1.30 pm at the Sports Field next to Romsey Rapids. You are invited to go along with your picnic and something to sit on and enjoy a ‘musical’ couple of hours. Kim G who came to one of Greenbuttercup CIC’s sessions at the beginning of next year and runs the ‘Memory Choir’ will be dropping by to get everyone singing a few favourites.
If you are interested in going to the picnic, please contact Marianne on 07899 664209 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Pantomime – Friday 18th June – Sunday 27th June
In these crazy times, RAODS are putting on a pantomime in June !! When it looked as though restrictions would be eased towards the end of last year, members of ROADS wrote and rehearsed a short pantomime to incorporate COVID-restrictions.
Unfortunately, they were unable to perform it, so they have decided to perform ‘Jack and the Beanstalk: a COVID Panto’ to celebrate the re-opening of the Plaza this month. There are socially distanced performances from Friday 18th June, finishing with a ‘relaxed’ performance on Sunday 27th June at 6.00 pm. For more information, go to the RAODS website – www.plazatheatre.com. This is, of course, subject to any COVID-restrictions being put in place.
