New MiDAS Courses for new standard DATS

26/08/2021

Hampshire County Council is now taking bookings for the next MiDAS Standard Driver Assessor/Trainer (DAT) courses which will take place in September and October 2021.

The below forms will need to be completed and returned should you wish to book onto the course. As well as the health declaration form which will also need to be completed and returned to community.transport@hants.gov.uk.

Below is some important information for DATs, including some information regarding the measures being taken and your responsibilities to help reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19. Please ensure you carefully read and understand all of this information before attending face to face training.

For any prospective DATs wishing to train who do not have a D1 licence, please make this clear when booking. Failure to do so may result in you not being able to complete the training. Any prospective DAT needs to have completed the relevant MiDAS driver training beforehand (i.e. if you wish to train as an accessible DAT, you need to have completed the accessible driver training beforehand).

You must bring your Driving Licence on the day, along with a screenshot or printout of your driving licence summary/entitlements (an example of this is below). To obtain this, please log on to the following link https://www.viewdrivingrecord.service.gov.uk/driving-record/licence-number no more than 21 days before attending the course and follow these steps:

  • Enter your driving licence number, your national insurance number and postcode.
  • Click the box I agree and then the view now button.
  • Once you have done that go to the right hand box marked get your check code.
  • Click on get code.
  • Then click on print or save driving summary.

Please bring this with you on the day. Failure to do so may mean you cannot complete the course.

Due to reduced staff, they are no longer able to guarantee that an email will be sent to you before your certificate expires. While they will endeavour to send a reminder email, it is the responsibility of the DAT to ensure that their certificate is up to date and to contact you when you are due to attend refresher training.

If you have any urgent queries, please contact 01962 846785. Otherwise, please return forms or email any queries to community.transport@hants.gov.uk.
