SUMMARY:Music for a Summer’s Evening
DESCRIPTION:This summer\,  Andover Chamber Choir will perform a mixed programme of music that captures the spirit of summer and provides a delightful evening of entertainment. \nFrom jazz settings of Shakespeare to music from his time\, and from the heady harmonies of Elgar and Ireland to classic British folksongs\, the programme includes something for everyone. Of particular note\, the programme will include two Hampshire folksongs collected and arranged by Gustav Holst.  The musical pieces will be complemented by readings chosen by Prof. Michael Wheeler\, chairman of the choir. \nInterim Musical Director Amy Walters said\, “After a packed programme of sacred pieces for the last few months\, we are now enjoying a return to the secular and musical choices that include both the light-hearted and the dramatic. We are learning some new and some more familiar repertoire\, and we can’t wait to share it with our audience.  Over Wallop - a quintessential English village - is an ideal location for this repertoire.” \nThe concert takes place on Saturday 19 July at St Peter’s Church\, Over Wallop\, SO20 8HT\, beginning at 7.30pm.  Tickets are £15 on the door or £12 in advance from The Lights (in person\, telephone or online)\, Wallops Community Shop and choir members. Under 16s are admitted free of charge.  Light refreshments are included in the ticket price.

SUMMARY:Army Flying Museum at Middle Wallop this Summer 2025
DESCRIPTION:Fun science\, creative craft activities\, cartoon workshops and fun trails\, all form the school holiday entertainment programme from the  \n  \nThe Army Flying Museum’s holiday activities will offer six weeks of creative craft sessions along with lots of other fun activities all included within the ticket price which also comes with a free annual pass\, to enable visitors to return week on week to enjoy the fun.   \n  \nOn Monday 28 July the team welcome Fun Science to the Museum who will be showing off some flight science themed activities along with making paper rockets and helicopters. \n  \nDon't miss the chance to meet some very special therapy goats from The Three Bees Project on Wednesday 6 August.  Snuggle up with Tiger-Lily\, give Bluebell a tummy massage\, enjoy a deep conversation with Hamilton and laugh at the antics of Elvis and Neil. Goats are naturally playful and inquisitive\, so they get as much out of their visits as the visitors they meet. \nOn Wednesday 13 August the Museum will turn its attention to all things Meccano when visitors can feast their eyes on some fantastic models and have a go at making your very own design. \nOn Tuesday 26 August\, the team from Kooky and Kitsch will be making a first visit to the Museum and running a very special cartoon workshop using some of the exhibits within the Museum as inspiration. \n  \nOn 5\, 10 and 21 August\, the Museum invites you to come along and try your hand at making and painting a plastic model.  With lots of models to choose from including vehicles\, history\, fantasy or storytelling\, visitors will be guided by the charity Models for Heroes and will take home a model after the session to remind them of their visit. \n  \nThe Museum has several creative trails taking place throughout the summer holidays along with the regular dress up stations\, jigsaws\, interactive exhibits and of course\, the opportunity to sit inside the helicopters within the museum.  Every Thursday throughout the holidays\, the team from the Museum will also stage an interactive activity each week\, with dressing up sessions\, VR headsets or the opportunity to look more closely at some of the items from the Museum with the curatorial team included. \n  \nWith the outdoor play park and picnic tables visitors also have the chance to see some amazing aircraft flying in and out of the historic Middle Wallop airfield. \n  \nLucy Johnson\, CEO of the Army Flying Museum said: “We always enjoy offering a variety of free family activities during the school holidays\, which gives visitors real added value for their annual passes.
