SUMMARY:The Age of Flight - Hampshire Air Festival
DESCRIPTION:Hampshire Air Festival is a new two-day aviation weekend taking place at Thruxton Circuit and Aerodrome\, Hampshire\, on 12–13 September 2026\, celebrating The Age of Flight with flying and static displays\, heritage aircraft and family-friendly attractions. \nOrganised by Montserrat Events Festivals Limited\, the show will feature aircraft representing over a century of aviation\, a Saturday evening extravaganza of pyro-aerobatics\, drone\, light and firework displays\, plus camping\, hospitality and partnership opportunities for visitors and businesses alike. \nThe initial flying announcements reflect the festival’s ambition to tell the story of over 100 years of aviation in the air. Aircraft and displays confirmed so far include: \n· The Great War Display Team – meticulously crafted First World War replicas recreating the drama and daring of early aerial combat. \n· Rich Goodwin Airshows – the Jet Pitts Special G-JPIT\, a heavily re-engineered Pitts S2S biplane fitted with twin jet engines\, showcasing British innovation and hybrid performance. \n· DroneSwarm – a cutting-edge drone light show as part of the Saturday night spectacle\, using a fleet of synchronised drones to tell a story in the night sky. \n· Bob Davy’s Yak-3 – a Yak-3UTI replica powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp\, presenting the spirit of the legendary Eastern Front fighter with a distinctive Ukrainian-support scheme. \n· Supermarine Spitfire RR232 “City of Exeter” – a Mk IX Spitfire built in 1944\, restored over 13 years and now operated by Spitfires.com at Goodwood Aerodrome\, appearing in the aircraft’s 90th anniversary year. \nFurther aircraft representing different eras of The Age of Flight\, including additional warbirds\, aerobatic acts and more modern airframes\, will be announced in the coming months.
