Romsey Carnival - Kids Fun Run & Bed Race

The organisers of Romsey Carnival are inviting residents and visitors to take part in two of the carnival’s most popular and high-energy events: the Kids Fun Run and the Bed Race.

Taking place as part of the wider carnival celebrations in Romsey, these events offer something for all ages — from fun, active participation for young people to a lively and entertaining team competition.

Kids Fun Run

The Kids Fun Run provides a fun and inclusive opportunity for children to get involved in the carnival.

What to expect:

• A family-friendly fun run for children
• A relaxed, supportive and non-competitive atmosphere
• A great way for young people to be part of the carnival celebrations
• An opportunity to get active and enjoy the community event

Bed Race

The much-loved Bed Race is a highlight of the carnival, combining creativity, teamwork and plenty of fun.

What to expect:

• Teams racing decorated beds through the course
• A lively, spectator-friendly atmosphere
• A focus on teamwork, creativity and community spirit
• A fun (and often messy!) challenge

Key information:

• Teams of 6 people (aged 16+)
• Entry fee: £64.80 per team
• Teams must arrive by 5:00pm and register by 5:30pm
• Beds are available from organisers (limited availability, first come first served)

Important rules:

• One team member must remain on the bed at all times
• No alcohol is permitted before or during the race
• No throwing objects – this will result in disqualification
• Beds must not have mechanical propulsion
• All participants must behave appropriately
• All participants take part at their own risk

Together, these events form a key part of the Romsey Carnival, bringing the community together for a day of fun, activity and celebration for all ages.
