Engage, Educate, Evolve

March 19, 2019

Dear Colleagues and supporters

“1.6 million children in Britain live in housing that is overcrowded, temporary, or run-down. Some live-in housing that’s making them ill. Many are missing out on a decent education. Others suffer chronic insecurity, shuffled from place to place temporary accommodation’.” Shelter 2019

Statistically people who have experienced care are more likely to go on to experience homelessness,  receive a custodial sentence and experience poor physical and mental health.

People are at risk of losing their tenancies through their difficulties prioritizing their rent due to mental health, domestic abuse, substance abuse and not being able to cope with the transition onto UC.

You Matter covers all these aspects of life and more:

As well as teaching the skills people need to keep a roof over their heads, we also put our learners in touch with the agencies who will provide the ongoing support they need to help prevent them becoming a rough sleeper, sofa surfer, victim of exploitation and at risk of further Adverse Childhood Experiences.

Are you working with a family or young person who is currently or at risk of experiencing homelessness?

We are delighted to say that You Matter will be delivered in the following locations (Application forms and information at the bottom of this post)
