Delay to the launch of Safer Communities Fund Grants

September 20, 2021

Donna Jones, Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire & Isle of Wight has taken the decision to delay the launch of the Safer Communities Fund grants round 2022/2023.

“I feel that it is important that grant funding aligns with the priorities set out in my Police and Crime Plan, however, the draft plan is currently out for consultation and is not due to be signed off until later in the year.

I am keen to enable continuity and stability of funding for my third sector partners. Delaying the grants round will allow me to carry out a comprehensive review of the grants programme with the aim of establishing long term funding opportunities.

Whilst this review is undertaken I will be offering the 2021/2022 Safer Communities Fund providers the opportunity to extend their current funding, where appropriate, until the end of June 2022.

My Commissioning and Partnerships Team will be in contact with partners when there is a further update.”
