Charlton is holding a Beacon Lighting and Music in the Park event as part of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations on 2 June. It’s open to all and the event runs from 7-11pm with music from Test Valley Brass, Midge and Kilcannon – a talented local Irish Band.

945pm Beacon Lighting by the Mayor of Test Valley
Rendition: Song for the Commonwealth, which has been written and composed by Lucy Keily, from Australia and Vincent Atueyi Chinemelu from Nigeria.
10pm: Kilcannon Irish Band Set 2
11pm: Event Closes
The Lakeside Café will be open for all the usual refreshments and there will also be Lottie’s Kitchen, Ethels Pies and Waffilicious on site.
Tickets have been on sale and are still available via Eventbrite from the Royal Oak at Charlton, the Charlton Convenience Store, St Thomas’ church and Charlton Lakeside Café at just £2 (under 12s free). Tickets on the night will be £3.
